Week 1:
My blog post this week focused on getting my ducks in a row. During this week, I took my seedlings and transported them into larger solo cups. For my seedlings, I found the best success with the
Jiffy Pods. They were a super easy and effective tool to use when starting a plant from seed. I have attached a photo of my "Before" and "After" photo.
As with many learning experiences, there are ups and downs. This week I experienced, some down. Where I reside had multiple inches of rain within a few days. My garden space where I was to plant my transplanted seedlings was a huge mud hole! While the weather was poor this week, I took the time to research how to make gorgeous flower pots. Below, I have attached some photos of the pots I created!
Another week had gone by and the weather at home had not improved. This week I also came to the realization that the weather greatly impacts my new hobby. This week, my blog post was focused on where I shopped for my seeds. During the week, I continued to water and keep to my transplanted seedlings. Throughout the rest of the week, I explored different Saskatchewan gardening bloggers to keep my spirits high during this down period of my Learning Project.
This week was a brighter week! For my blog post, I used Jamboard to design the layout of my garden. Although our garden space was too wet to begin planting, I moved my seedlings out of our office to the outdoors. This was to expose my seedlings to the outdoors as they will be planted outside very soon. Below, I have attached a photo of my seedlings enjoying the outside sunlight!
Week 5 was a very hard week in regards to my Learning Project. While being away for the weekend, our farm received a huge rain and wind storm. Many of my seedlings did not survive. It was this week that I felt major defeat. Many of my seedlings have been nurturing since March. This week, I decided to scratch my original garden plans and plant my garden into a raised garden bed on the side of our house. It was during this week that I felt as if I failed at my Learning Project.
I decided to focus on maintaining my Flower Pots this week for my blog post because garden wise I did not have much to share. I also created a Tiktok this week!
Week 6:
Week 5 was a very defeating week in regard to my Learning Project. After a conversation with my partner who farms, he brought my spirits up by sharing that farming, similar to gardening isn't as easy as it may seem. Reflecting back on this Learning Project, I realized that as a first-time gardener I bit off way more than I could chew. It was at this week, that I decided to downscale my "big" garden and rater focus on my raised garden bed for the remainder of summer.
Week 7:
For my final week, I planted my seedlings that survived in a raised garden bed. At this time, I just needed to trust the process and allow nature to do its thing. I filled the raised garden bed with sticks and leaves for the first 1/2 ft. The remainder of the garden bed I filled with potting soil. After this, I got to planting!

In Week 4, I played around with the technology - Jamboard. Below, I have attached two different ways to access my Screencastify recording.

I believe I have contributed to the learning of others by interacting in-class discussions and on Twitter. In this course, my favorite element was the Twitter accounts. I enjoyed this because I could chat with fellow classmates and other educational professionals. Before having a teaching Twitter account, I don't think I would have integrated this into my future classroom. I now will remain active on Twitter for my colleagues, students, and other educational professionals. I really enjoyed the #SaskEdChat that we participated in during this course.
A tweet I had great interaction with was an introduction resource I shared. I have attached it here if you'd like to check it out: Introduction Resource. I wasn't when I saw the interactions this tweet received because as a Twitter user, I too would be drawn to resources especially if they are free! It was this Tweet that I began posting more resources and tweets I would be interested in if I was scrolling through Twitter.
To conclude my Recap of Learning Project and Final Thoughts... blog post, I will leave you with some of my favorite tweets and interactions with peers via Twitter.

I Tweeted this on a day I felt defeated and my peer's comments brought my spirits back up. |

This Tweet was my most successful Tweet throughout this course. I love learning new techniques to help with anxiety. |

This is a photo from a Tweet of my seedings being started. My peers and I had a great discussion!
